Why are Tinctures a Preferred Method of Taking Herbs?

Because tinctures are potent. You don’t waste your money on pills that have been in the manufacturing process for months or years and lose potency. With an alcohol base, the tinctures pull out all the medicinal benefits of the plant and preserve them naturally for you. They don’t lose potency over time. Tinctures are ideal for those looking to support their body with herbal tinctures for detox, immune support tincture, parasite detox tincture, or other potent herbal remedies that maintain their effectiveness.

With that being said, the ones I make are mostly in a non-GMO vodka base with some occasional measures of Everclear for the plant material that requires a higher proof alcohol for maximum extraction benefits. This is fine for most people. But some people prefer to avoid alcohol in all forms, even by avoiding real vanilla extract or OTC cough syrup, and we support that choice. These tinctures aren’t for those people. Because of the potential for bacteria to reside in glycerine tinctures, we have decided to only offer alcohol-based tinctures.

The herbs we use are edible and considered safe for most people. Some people may be allergic to certain herbs and should not use them. It is always best to consult your doctor before using any herbal product if you are taking prescription medications or have a health condition. Our formulas support a wide range of wellness goals including natural parasite cleanse, lymphatic support tincture, or liver detox tincture benefits.

How I Make My Tinctures

I have a very distinct process of sourcing herbs that I don’t grow myself. I do grow a lot of plants in my garden, and hopefully I won’t be moving again for a long time. I seem to move every so often and that puts a damper on my gardening fun. I am in my 12th house since I launched Purify Your Body back in 2005. But hopefully, we will stay where we are for a while and my plants will thrive.

For those plants I grow, when I harvest them, I dry them and then tincture them. Some plants like to be tinctured fresh, and I use a higher proof alcohol for them. I have over 150 herbs tinctured. Most of them I use in my formulas, but I have some others that I have on hand in case a customer wants a custom tincture.

I offer tinctures that support full wellness, including lymphatic detox herbs, parasite detox herbs, and herbal parasite cleanse options.

After extracting the medicinal properties for 6 weeks, I can mix my formulas. Then I repeat the process, add plant material and alcohol, and let it sit for 6 more weeks. And on and on.

When I decide on the herbs for my formulas, I feel inspired and know that God is helping me make the best formulas that work.

Herbal Medicine is as Old as Time

As long as there have been plants on this earth and humans to use them, plants have been used for medicine and food. In the Bible, it talks about herbs and their benefits. How cool is it that there is a surge of interest in going back to nature and utilizing these amazing plants? I love how so many people are becoming more interested in plants and plant medicine. There is enough room for all of us.

Other Ways to Use Herbs

There are other ways to use herbs. Herbal infusions (teas), glycerites, pills, and more. I prefer tinctures because they are very potent, they have an extremely long shelf life without losing potency or going bad, and they pack a large punch in a small bottle.

For those who want to explore holistic detox, tinctures can complement products like detox foot pads, parasite cleanse detox kit, or full body detox tincture.
